Why A Ballet/Tap Class Might Be Perfect for Your Child
If you happen to have a kid who is super energetic then a Ballet/Tap combo classes would be a great choice. Ballet/Tap classes are a great for kids with high energy because they get two different dance styles in one class. This is also good because younger kids often have short attention spans, so spending half of the class on ballet and half on tap is a great way to break up the class. These classes have been proven to been successful in keeping the kids attention and focus for their full class time.
CCDA offers combo classes in Ballet/Tap from ages 3-6, the class is 30 mins of ballet and 30 mins of tap every week for ages 5-6, for ages 3-4 the class is 45 mins due to the little ones having a much shorter attention span. The basics ballet positions are taught and students will learn various ballet terms, as well as across short across the floor combinations. The tap part of the class will focus on basic and beginning footwork such as shuffles, shuffle hops, toe taps, heel digs and so on. In the tap portion they will also learn short combinations that they will work on in class. This is a wonderful choice if you have a child who is not quite sure if they want to do ballet only, give them the option for both and enroll in a ballet/tap class. We are currently enrolling for summer and pre-enrolling for fall. Check our schedule from the top menu bar.
We look forward to seeing you in class!
