Capitol City Dance Academy offers three levels of competitive dance:
Senior Division
Junior Division
Mini Division
These ranks are based highly on skill, and secondly on age. Dancer’s on our competitive teams spend many hours a week at the academy working on their technique and various choreography that they will take to competition.
Competitions
CCDA attends five competitions each competitive season, and these are mandatory for all company dancers. There is one competition that only upper division dancers qualify for and these dancers are selected individually by our Academy Director.
Competitive Dance is a beautiful experience for a student who is very passionate about dance as well as dancers who may dream of a career in dance. Competition gives them the opportunity to perform several times throughout the academic year giving them more stage time and experience being in front of an audience.
Senior Company

Junior Company
Takes the following styles to competition: Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Junior dancers also take a solo to compete in either jazz or contemporary.
Mini Company
Takes the following styles to competition: Lyrical, Jazz, and Tap
